Dell Latitude D830 @ NDC

Due to popular demand we have managed to source the “ford transit” of the laptop world! The Dell Latitude D830 along with its smaller sibling the D630 are the back bone of the corporate world. Now replaced with the E-series these models are now obsolete, but due to the sheer volume of the older D-series in circulation in their hundred of thousands in offices around the world, a lot of corporate clients are reluctant to move to the new E series. When you have a task force fully equipped and trained on a certain model, it does not make sense to replace the entire fleet should the requirement for an extra few arise. As such, the demand for these models has significantly shot up. We have just introduced in to our stock a full spectrum of specifications, from low end Intel GFX-based models to high end nVidia Quadro NVS 140M models with WUXGA screens starting at just over £300 for the lowest spec.

Baby Alienwares get a good burning in before being made available for sale

30 baby Alienware M11x laptops have just arrived and are ready for new homes. These have been priced aggressively and are bound to sell fast, so make sure you get yours before they sell out!

We currently have four different specifications listed, but there are at least 30% savings to be had compared to Dell’s new selling price. Not bad for a new model!

Currently they are all being shipped with Windows 7 Home Version, 64-bit, but as always, other upgrade options are available.

The new thin dell latitude 13 laptop unveiled

OK, so after releasing the new Dell Adamo XPS, it seems Dell have taken the same design ideas and reshaped them into the new Dell Latitude 13; which they’re saying is “the world’s thinnest 13-inch commercial client laptop“.

Their claim could easily be believed, as at just 0.65-inches thick, that’s pretty darned skinny – but what they’re NOT telling us is what’s inside it?

The Dell Latitude series is usually associated with business users, so we imagine that the spec will be impressive enough for surfing and regular business-use but not much more.

Come on Dell – give us the skinny on your new skinny laptop!

A few days ago I told you about the new ultra-thin Dell Adamo XPS – the thinnest laptop in the world – (see the article here: link) well, here we have a video of someone taking a look at it.

In particular, you can see how thin it really is, and while before I was a little dubious about the keyboard being at a weird angle… now I’m not so sure it’s an issue.

I also found this video, from the dell vlog, and one of the things that I noticed is that to open the laptop, you have to stroke the edge of the lid – a nifty design feature, but what happens if it stops working?

Also the whole point of the strange angle of the keyboard becomes apparent in this video too – it keeps the base elevated from your lap, avoiding that all-too-common ‘lap burn’ that many laptop users suffer!
